Sheet metal part is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal.
The following knowledge points are listed below:
(1) Materials of sheet metal parts
(2) Advantages of sheet metal parts
(3) Laser cutting of sheet metal parts - how it works
stainless steel
Grade 304 is the most common of the three grades. It provides good corrosion resistance while maintaining formability and weldability.
316 grade has higher corrosion resistance and strength than 304 grade at high temperature. It is commonly used in pumps, valves, chemical equipment and marine applications.
Grade 410 is a heat-treatable stainless steel, but its corrosion resistance is lower than other grades. It is often used for tableware. The only surface treatment available is dim.
The 430 grade is a popular, low-cost alternative to the 300 grade. Use this method when high corrosion resistance is not the main criterion. A common grade for home appliances, usually with a brushed surface.
Aluminum is also a commonly used sheet metal due to its flexibility, wide range of options, cost-effectiveness and other characteristics.
1100-H14 grade is commercial pure aluminum with high chemical stability and weather resistance. It has sufficient ductility for deep drawing and welding, but its strength is low. It is commonly used in chemical processing equipment, reflectors and jewelry.
The 3003-H14 grade is stronger than the 1100 grade, while maintaining the same formability and low cost. It is corrosion-resistant and weldable. It is usually used for stamping parts, rotating and drawing parts, mailboxes, cabinets, water tanks and fan blades.
5052-H32 grade is much stronger than 3003, while still maintaining good formability. It maintains high corrosion resistance and weldability. Common applications include electronic chassis, fuel tanks and pressure vessels.
Grade 6061-T6 is a common heat-treated structural aluminum alloy. It is weldable, corrosion resistant and stronger than 5052, but not as formable. Some strength is lost when welding. Used in modern aircraft structures.
Brass is an alloy of copper and is widely used as sheet metal. Compared with copper, it has higher strength, corrosion resistance and formability, while maintaining electrical conductivity.
The sheet metal parts provided can find its application in many industries such as automobile, electrical, electronics, defense, consumer electronics and so on. Our company has various punching machines, and can easily and perfectly perform bending, cutting and punching operations.
Thanks to the built-in mold facility, our company has an advantage in manufacturing the best quality sheet metal parts at reasonable prices.
Sheet metal is not a specific material. Instead, the term is used for formed metals. Generally, sheet metal has a rectangular shape. Another feature is that the thickness of the sheet is much lower than its length and width.
In addition to steel, many other metals (such as copper, aluminum, and gold) and brass alloys can be processed into sheet metal. However, in order to be processed into a metal plate, the material used should have specific characteristics, that is, a certain toughness and rigidity, and of course it is ductile and can be formed. These requirements have led to restrictions on the materials that can be used. Therefore, it is impossible to process very brittle or very hard materials into metal plates.
Accordingly, the metal plate is a semi-finished product that can be produced on a large area, and thus the metal plate is generally light, thin, stable, elastic and flat. Because of these characteristics, they are suitable for all types of coatings and coverings. In addition, the metal plate can be deformed in many ways, that is, it can be welded, bent, punched or cut. Sheet metal can be made into various shapes, which is why it is used as a raw material for various products.
Different methods can be used to perform surface treatment in proceeding sheet metal parts. Therefore, surface treatments in metal processing are assigned to different process categories, as follows:
Surface removal (electropolishing, polishing)
Surface coating (chrome plating, powder coating, spray paint)
Mechanical surface treatment (shot peening, polishing, grinding)
Chemical surface treatment (pickling, degreasing, cleaning)
Our company specializes in various products. We adhere to the management policy of "quality first, service first, continuous improvement, innovation to satisfy customers", and "zero defects, zero complaints" as the quality goal.
